"This cassette is the result of a music-project, created and produced by me, Gina Jacobi, a Swedish artist and songwriter. In order to climb over the barriers of language, I wanted to find a natural way of meeting different cultures through music. The lyrics and parts of the music has been written by immigrants and refugees living in Sweden. The songs are performed by themselfs in their mother tongue - "My life in Sweden" is the common theme.

I want to thank everyone who joined this project in different ways: Hassan Ghazi, Serkar Dersimi Sengul, Swat Sengul, Selim Eminov, Mandana Mehrbod, Habib Mashayeki, Elham Shahripour, Mohammed Aly Magnefors, David Karinga, and Joy Anthony. I also want to thank the persian musicians, Bahman Shakibi (kamancheh), Jalal Naghshbandi (tombak) and Mahmoud Shafieian for letting me use their sounds in the songs."

This cassette has been sponsored by: Olof Palmes Minnesfond, Sundsvalls Kommun, Statens Invandrarverk, AF-Kultur/media in Umeå and ABF-Sundsvallsorten.
